Claire and Jack did a parkrun the day they met and have continued to do one most weeks in the five year period since. They generally travel to each event, which has enabled them to see a lot of this country - these guys are planning to move to their third state together later this year!
Three months into their relationship, Jack started a tradition that included Claire, but that she didn’t know about. He began taking photos of her in every place they went with a parkrun tag in the foreground. The tag said ‘will you marry me?”
Three years later, he popped the question - at the end of a parkrun. Are we even surprised at this point?!
When Claire approached me to take some engagement shots, I was absolutely thrilled! We quickly decided on the classic SEQ peak Mt Maroon as the destination.
Jack and Claire immediately felt like mates. We had a chill hike to the summit, which was devoid of people apart from our little group. I’d never been there without heaps of people coating the open peak, but this absence was for good reason. Across the plains of the scenic rim, cloaking the iconic Mt Lindsay, and fully covering the rugged Mt Barney was not only layers of mist, but distinct rain patterns.
The forecast had been predicted to be fine, so after the initial surprise, we made the most of the clear before the weather changed. Jack and Claire had the best attitude towards the turn of events - they fully embraced the moody weather!
We then headed slowly down the mountain. By the time we reached our cars, the sky was clear and the light was golden. I took a few more shots of them in front of the mountain we had all just conquered.
